Tinubu To Reconvene FEC Meeting Monday

October 15, (THEWILL) – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would on Monday, October 16, reconvene the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, 32 days after the inaugural cabinet session held on August 28, a report by Thisday indicated on Sunday.

FEC meetings were held weekly by previous administrations including the immediate-past administration led by Muhammadu Buhari.

The constitutional role of the FEC chaired by the President, according to the Ministers’ Statutory Powers and Duties Act, is an advisory body to the President.

President Tinubu had, on August 21, sworn in and inaugurated 45 ministers who attended the maiden cabinet meeting at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja on August 28.

Meanwhile, the three ministers recently confirmed by the Senate – Balarabe Abbas Lawal (Kaduna), Jamila Bio Ibrahim (Kwara) and Ayodele Olawande (Ondo) – are expected to be sworn in on Monday, before the cabinet meeting.
