February 18, (THEWILL) – The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has lauded Oyo State residents for their massive turnout and love extended to him during his campaign visit to the state.
He described their patience during his visit to the state as exemplary.
Tinubu also used the visit to endorse the governorship candidate of the party, Senator Teslim Folarin, describing him as a worthy candidate that will ultimately triumph in the March 11, 2023 election.
Tinubu, who arrived the campaign ground at 6.00 pm, met a massive crowd waiting at the ancient Mapo Hall in Ibadan and said he saluted their patience.
Tinubu, who was supported by Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, former Governor, Kayode Fayemi, the Acting Coordinator, APC Presidential Campaign Council in South Western States, handed over the party’s flag to Folarin.
Tinubu was accompanied by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare, and Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
Others are Chief Bisi Akande, former Governor, Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State and former Speaker of House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole.
The APC candidate had earlier visited Gov. Seyi Makinde, at the Governor’s Office and later proceeded to International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, for a closed door meeting with Yoruba traditional rulers.
The meeting, which was presided by Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, held at the International Conference Centre of the University of Ibadan (UI).
It attracted Orangun of Oke Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarinwa; Olugbo of Ugbo, Oba Fedric Akinruntan; Osimawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo; Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Olusola Alao and Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom, Oba Saheed Ademola, among others.
A communiqué issued at the end of the meeting by the Director General of Conscience of Yoruba Nation, Abagun Kole Omololu, stated that the royal fathers expressed satisfaction with the briefings of Tinubu on his aspiration, acknowledging Tinubu’s solid democratic credentials and unwavering commitment to the entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria.
Speaking, the Chairman, Media and Publicity Committee of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Oyo State, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, said that Tinubu was loved by the people.
He said the crowd witnessed at the rally was an attestation to the fact that Tinubu would get massive votes in Oyo State.
Olaosebikan assured the people of victory for all APC candidates in the general election, pledging total support for Tinubu in the state.
