Tinubu Meets Northern Govs Sharing Boundary With Niger Republic

August 07, (THEWILL) – President Bola Tinubu, on Sunday evening, at the State House, Presidential Villa in Abuja, met with Governors from States sharing borders with the neighbouring Niger Republic.

The Governors include Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State, Umar Namadi of Jigawa, his Yobe State counterpart, Mala Buni;m, Kebbi’s Idris Nasir, and Dikko Radda of Katsina State.

While no formal statement has been issued on the President’s meeting with the five State Governors, THEWILL gathered that the meeting was part of the consultation on the recent order by the Federal Government to close all borders linking Nigeria with Niger.

President Tinubu also sensitized the Governors on the escalating situation in Niger Republic.
