Tinubu Honoured As Grand Patron Of African Para Games

November 15, (THEWILL) – The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was recently decorated as the Grand Patron of the African Para Games and Para Sports in Africa. The ceremony took place in the Conference Room of the Office of the First Lady and was officiated by the Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh.

Senator Enoh praised the First Lady’s remarkable commitment to supporting youth, women and sports development in Nigeria. He expressed confidence that Senator Tinubu will bring new energy and visibility to para sports across Africa through her leadership as Grand Patron.

The President of the African Paralympic Committee, Samson Deen, presented the First Lady with the ceremonial decoration. He appealed to her to encourage other African First Ladies to take on similar leadership roles in their respective countries.

In her remarks, Senator Tinubu recognised the power of para sports to foster unity, inspire achievement and transform lives. She pledged to support the organisations and athletes involved in furthering the mission of the African Para Games within her capacity as Grand Patron.

Senator Tinubu thanked the African Para Games for the recognition and looked forward to collaborating to promote the rights of para-athletes on the continent. Her patronage is seen as an important step in highlighting the accomplishments of differently-abled African athletes.
