Adebomehin was first appointed to the position by former President Muhammadu Buhari on January 5, 2022.

According to Onanuga, the decision will allow Adebomehin to complete several key reforms he initiated across Nigeria’s geospatial data and mapping systems.

President Tinubu, he added, expects the Surveyor-General to use the extended period to consolidate ongoing reforms in national land management, highway and abutting land coordination, reclamation and erosion control programmes, and other projects of strategic national importance.
