TG Omori Accuses Trace TV Award Of Shunning Video Director Category

August 31, (THEWILL) – Controversial music video director, ThankGod Omori Jesam, better known as TG Omori, has accused Trace TV Awards organisers of ignoring the video director category.

Ahead of the award ceremony taking place in October at BK Arena, Kigali, Rwanda, the organisers released a list of nominees and the award categories a few day ago.

Omori, who has directed videos for some of the biggest names in African music, including Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy, took to Twitter to express his displeasure about being shunned in the award categories.

“I’m very disappointed that the Trace TV Awards have once again ignored the video director category.

“Video directors are the ones who bring artists’ visions to life, and we deserve to be recognized for our work.

“The Trace TV Awards needs to wake up and smell the coffee.

“Video directors are an essential part of the music industry, and we deserve to be recognized”, he tweeted.

The Trace TV Award is an annual award ceremony that celebrates the best in African music and entertainment.

The award has been criticized in the past for not being inclusive enough, and this year’s decision to ignore the video director category has only added to those concerns.

Though the organizers have said that they are always looking for ways to improve the awards ceremony and that they will take feedback into account as they plan for future editions.

However, they are yet to respond to the criticism trailing the list they released.
