October 25, (THEWILL) – Manchester United Manager, Erik ten Hag has encouraged Cristiano Ronaldo, to play his way back into favour as the striker reported to Manchester United’s training facility on Tuesday.
As THEWILL reported, Ronaldo was left off the team for the match against Chelsea on Saturday and was briefly excluded from first-team activities after declining to serve as a substitute against Tottenham the week prior.
It did not go well with the management of Old Trafford that Ronaldo went to the dressing room before the referee blew the final whistle, followed by a reported early exit from the stadium.
Nevertheless, despite numerous predictions to the contrary, Ronaldo might still have a future with United. But, Ronaldo has the chance to switch clubs in January, and a successful World Cup for Portugal might make that easier.
Ten Hag emphasised that the 37-year-old’s behaviour in the Tottenham game was “not acceptable” before the Chelsea game and noted that he would talk to him before his return to the squad. His participation in training means he could turn out in Thursday’s Europa League match against Sheriff.
