August 12, (THEWILL) – Tarok Elders Forum (TEF) has presented relief materials worth over a million naira to the displaced people of Kumbwang and Lyanjit communities of Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Kumbwang and Langyit communities recently clashed as a result of land disputes, which resulted in loss of lives and destruction of properties mostly food crops worth millions of naira.

The leader of the delegation, Rev. Seth Nden, while presenting the materials to the victims of the communal crisis, sued for peaceful co-existence among the people and emphasised that no meaningful development will take place in an atmosphere of bitterness and rancour.

Rev. Nden also urged the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), to as a matter of urgency assist the people by providing them with relief materials to cushion the effects of the crisis.

He admonished the people of the communities to forgive and embrace one another, and to ensure that such ugly incident does not occur in their communities again, as he stressed that the development is not only a great setback to the two communities, but the entire Tarok land.

Items donated to the victims of the communal clash include bags of rice, maize, blankets, roofing materials, soup ingredients, and many other household consumables.

In his remarks, the District Head of Langtang, Hon. Nicholas Selven Musa, commended the efforts of Tarok Elders Forum for their show of love and compassion, and added that the relief materials will help victims to alleviate their suffering.
