June 07, (THEWILL) – Dr Taiwo Afolabi, the Chief Executive Officer of SIFAX group, a conglomerate of companies has emerged the Vanguard Businessman of the Year. The amiable gentleman who was just appointed as the Chairman of SIFAX Group was honoured for his immense contribution to the business sector through the establishment of conglomerates, which has largely contributed to the economic and financial growth of the country.
The award was given to him by Vanguard Media Limited, publishers of Vanguard Newspaper. The awardee has since been basking in his latest title. Afolabi’s SIFAX Group is one of the leading conglomerates in Nigeria with offices in Tema, Ghana, Durban, USA, Rotterdam, Belgium, Gambia, Malabo, London. It started operation as SIFAX Nigeria Limited, a freight forwarding agency in Lagos rendering services such as haulage and warehousing operations. The company later metamorphosed due to its rapid growth to several subsidiaries such as, Maritime, Aviation, Logistics, Oil and Gas, Financial Services and Hospitality.
