November 11, (THEWILL) – Nigerian comedienne, content creator, cinematographer and social media influencer, Maryam Apaokagi, known professionally as Taaooma, recently announced the launch of the Mariam Apaokagi Initiative, a foundation aimed at supporting the less privileged in society.
Taaooma, shared this during her visit to Ilorin, Kwara State, where she paid a courtesy visit to Senator Saliu Mustapha, the representative of Kwara Central Senatorial District, at his residence.
Listing diverse programmes the foundation will undertake, she clarified that the initiative is her personal way of contributing to society. She emphasised her intention to commence in Ilorin, her hometown.
Consequently, she sought the senator’s support and collaboration to ensure the foundation’s success.
In response, Senator Mustapha praised Taaooma for the initiative and reassured her that he is always open to collaboration, emphasising his support.
As the Turaki of Ilorin, Mustapha urged the skit maker to focus on creating content that promotes values and addresses issues like drug abuse and criminal activities. Additionally, in his role as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, he underscored the significance of vocational education for youth, emphasising its pivotal role in generating employment opportunities.
