May 24, (THEWILL) – Nigeria’s Super Falcons’ invitee Adekite Fatuga-Dada has been nominated for the 2021/2022 Watford Women’s Goal of the Season award for the campaign, according to the Hornets’ official website.
Fatuga-Dada’s goal and her performance against Blackburn Rovers in a Women’s Championship match on September 12, at Sir Tom Finney Stadium in Lancashire was crucial to her nomination.
Fatuga-Dada scored a consolation goal two minutes from time with the Hornets trailing by three goals. Her free-kick from just around the 18-yard box found the back of the net even though they still lost.
The Nigerian is competing for the Goal of the Season award against Flo Fyfe, Anne Meiwald, Leanne Bell, Emma Beckett, Rosie Kmita, and Helen Ward. Her other goal in the division came last month in a thrilling 3-3 tie with Durham.
Fatuga-Dada, who once played for London side Arsenal, is the Hornets’ longest-serving player having been with Watford Women since she was eleven years old.
