Super Eagles Star, Ahmed Musa Questioned By UK Police For Domestic Violence

BEVERLY HILLS, April 06, (THEWILL) – 24-year-old Super Eagles striker, Ahmed Musa, has been questioned by the UK police on suspicion of attacking and beating up his wife, Jamila, hours after he had her happy birthday on Instagram.

The 17 million Pounds Leicester City FC footballer was quizzed at his £850,000 five-bedroom home in Countesthorpe, Leicestershire, just hours after his side’s 2-0 win over Sunderland.

It was gathered that operatives of the UK Police received a domestic abuse complaint against the former CSKA Moscow forward who cost the Premier League club a record fee of £16.6million.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police confirmed the news saying “24-year-old man was arrested yesterday morning at his home address near Leicester on suspicion of common assault.”

Leicester City spokesman added “We are aware that Ahmed Musa has today cooperated with a police inquiry relating to a disturbance in the early hours of this morning.

“The inquiry has since been closed and no further action is to be taken. We see no reason for formal action internally, though Ahmed will be given the opportunity to discuss the matter with football management when the squad returns.”

Meanwhile, the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has reacted to the reports saying Musa denied beating his wife when he contacted him about the incident saying his focus is on helping Nigeria qualify for Russia 2018.

“Read about the reports regarding Ahmed Musa and I got in touch with the player. He categorically denies them,” he wrote on his twitter page @PinnickAmaju.

“Ahmed Musa is a family man and a gentleman as well. He says he is fully focused on helping Nigeria qualify for Russia 2018.

“I’ll stay in touch with Ahmed Musa and indeed, our Super Eagles players because they are not just footballers, but brothers and friends.”
