June 17, (THEWILL) – Ademola Lookman, the talented winger from Atalanta, has successfully completed a full training session with the Super Eagles ahead of Sunday’s TotalEnergies 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Sierra Leone.
The training took place at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Monrovia, serving as the final opportunity for manager Jose Peseiro to assess his players before finalising the starting lineup for Sunday’s crucial encounter. Previously, concerns arose when Lookman was spotted with ice wrapped around his leg during a training session at the Mobolaji Johnson, Onikan grounds.
However, the Super Eagles’ backroom staff swiftly allayed any doubts, assuring fans and supporters that there was no reason to worry. With the winger’s full participation in the recent training, Lookman has put himself in contention to feature in some capacity during Sunday’s game against the Leone Stars.
The Super Eagles squad, consisting of all 23 selected players, demonstrated their preparedness for the upcoming match by training without any limitations. The team’s physiotherapists attended to the players equally, ensuring their optimal fitness levels ahead of the crucial encounter.
Furthermore, upon their arrival in Monrovia, the Nigerian national team was greeted with a warm welcome from a Nigerian delegation led by the Nigerian Ambassador to Liberia, showcasing the support and encouragement for the Super Eagles’ campaign.
