October 23, (THEWILL) – Spanish champions, Real Madrid, defeated Sevilla 3-1 in La Liga on Saturday, thanks to Carlo Ancelotti’s timely substitutions that changed the dynamics of the fixture to deliver all three points.
On a rainy night at the Santiago Bernabeu, it appeared to be a tale of two former Tottenham players, as Luka Modric gave Real Madrid an early lead before Erik Lamela equalised early in the second half.
However, Ancelotti’s substitutions proved to be the game-changer as Lucas Vazquez immediately restored the champions’ lead after being introduced to the game. Marco Asensio, another substitute, assisted in the buildup and provided a pass for Federico Valverde to secure the victory.
