Stanbic IBTC Bank Reduces Business Hours In Abuja

October 28, (THEWILL) – Amid heightened fear over terror attacks in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Stanbic IBTC Bank has announced a cut down in hours of operation at its branches in Abuja.

“Dear Client, please note that our branches in Abuja will be closing by 3 pm until further advised. We apologise for any inconvenience”, a notice Stanbic IBTC sent to customers on Friday, read.

THEWILL had reported that Jabi Lake Mall, which houses over 150 shops shut down operations in Abuja on Thursday.

The development is connected with a security advisory released on Sunday, by the United States about possible terror attacks in Abuja.

The U.S. Embassy in Nigeria said “there is an elevated risk of terror attacks in Nigeria, specifically Abuja… The U.S. Embassy will offer reduced services until further notice. Attacks could be indiscriminate and could affect western interests, as well as places visited by tourists.”

UK, Canada, Germany, France and Switzerland, among others, had also issued similar warnings in security advisory to their nationals in Nigeria.
