December 19, (THEWILL) – On Thursday, December 22, 2023, the Daura Emirate Council, presided over by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar, will confer the famous chieftaincy title of Seriki Wasanni (King/Leader of the Games) upon the Minister of Youth Development and Sports, Sunday Dare.
Senior government officials, lawmakers, members of the diplomatic community, and members of the organised private sector are just a few of the people from all walks of life who are anticipated to attend the historic event, which will take place at the Emir’s palace in Daura.
According to the organisers, the accolade is intended to motivate the Minister to continue the extraordinary legacy and good deeds in all parts of life by honouring his accomplishments and contributions to nation-building through the growth of grassroots sport.
The Minister has garnered numerous honours both domestically and internationally for his achievements in grassroots sports and youth development.
It is also a means to show appreciation to the Minister, who recently refurbished the Daura Municipality Stadium in Daura, Katsina State, as part of the efforts made to ensure the provision of new sporting facilities and the rehabilitation of deteriorated ones around the nation.
