SAN FRANCISCO, December 10, (THEWILL) – The House of Representatives has resolved to investigate the invasion and disruption of court proceedings at the premises of a Federal High Court in Abuja by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in the attempt to re-arrest the convener of the #RevolutionNow protests, Omoyele Sowore.
The resolution followed the unanimous adoption of a motion moved by the Minority Leader, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, at the plenary on Tuesday.
The lawmaker described the occurrence as an abuse on the sanctity of the court room.
He said the reported invasion of the courtroom by DSS operatives can be seen as one arm of government attempting to overpower another, which will spell doom for the country’s democracy.
The Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, who prevented lawmakers from debating the matter, referred it to the relevant committees for investigation.
