December 15, (THEWILL) – The new Premier Hospital in the Tambuwal Local Government area of Sokoto will boost healthcare delivery to people within and outside the State.

The Council’s Director of Works, Mainassara Abubakar Kilgori, stated this in an interview with Journalists during a project tour inspection of the area.

“It would serve the interest of not only the eight Local Government Areas that comprise Sokoto South Senatorial district but also the neighbouring Kebbi State,” Kilgori remarked.

He lauded Governor Tambuwal’s investment in the new hospital infrastructure, which would bring health care closer to the people at the grassroots.

The Director noted other projects in various sectors in the State, adding the present administration was delivering quality dividends of democracy to the people across 23 Local Government Areas.

Regarding the hospital project, Ayodele Adeosun, Quantity Surveyor of the firm handling it, SBMC Construction, said it had reached 70% completion.

He expressed the firm’s commitment to timely completion and quality work as stipulated in the contractual agreement.

Among projects by the present administration in the Tambuwal Local Government Area included the expansion of administrative blocks at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, a 60 KW Solar PV mini-grid and the newly upgraded General Hospital Tambuwal, Modern Abattoir.

Others were two newly established modern secondary schools in Tambuwal and Dogondaji towns, the rehabilitation of the palace of the District Head of Kebbe town, and the construction of a new Divisional Police station in Kebbe.

The projects also included blocks of classrooms in public primary and secondary schools and about 30 kilometres of township roads, some of which had been completed.
