October 24, (THEWILL) – The Chairman of Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State, Sharehu Abubakar Kamarawa, has launched a free medical outreach for residents to cushion the impact of a disease outbreak in the state.
The initiative is to provide immediate healthcare services to affected communities, particularly vulnerable residents who may struggle to afford medical treatment.
Kamarawa said the intervention was prompted by the need to ensure timely access to medical care and prevent financial constraints from stopping residents from seeking treatment.
He added that the outreach was open to residents of affected communities, regardless of their economic status.
The chairman assured residents that his administration would continue to work with relevant health authorities and other stakeholders to support efforts to contain the outbreak and protect public health.
He urged residents to remain calm, observe necessary precautions and seek medical attention promptly if they develop symptoms associated with the disease.
Kamarawa also called on community members to cooperate with healthcare workers and comply with public health advisories to prevent further spread of the outbreak.
He said the local government would continue to monitor the situation and implement appropriate interventions to minimise its impact on residents.
The chairman encouraged residents to take advantage of the free medical services and report suspected cases to the relevant health authorities for prompt assessment and treatment.
