August 27, (THEWILL) – Vice President Kassim Shettima is expected to arrive Makurdi, the Benue State capital, on a one day state visit, during which he will carry out some state functions ton Tuesday.
Governor Hyacinth Alia, who is on ground to receive the Vice president, will lead him to commission a gigantic Benue Fashion Hub and the Benue Printing House, both located in the state capital.
THEWILL recalls that during his last visit to the state for the inauguration of the Expanded National Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Clinics in Makurdi, tagged “Benue Open for Business”, Shettima said President Ahmed Tinubu, was set to establish a World-Class Fashion Hub in Benue State.
He said the project is a fulfilment of Tinubu’s promise of job creation and accessible capital to Nigerians and also a homage to the unparalleled spirit of industry that defines the people of Benue State, he had also promised that the ultra-modern fashion hub would be furnished with all modern equipment.
In a statement, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, noted that Governor Alia, who undertook to provide land and construct the needed infrastructure for the hub, has already fulfilled his side of the bargain, hence the Vice President’s visit.
The statemenet quotes the Governor as inviting the public, particularly, the business community, stakeholders and party faithful to join him in welcoming the visitor, calling all to be orderly through out in the course of the functions.
THEWILL checks revealed that security forces have been positioned in strategic areas around the state capital to forestall any breach of protocol.
At the Wurukum round about, Benue Fashion Hub site, airport junction, Benue Printing House, various security agencies have also mounted guards.
Security patrol vehicles are moving around Wurukum, North Bank, High level and Kanshio axis of the state capital as finishing work was carried out at the Benue Printing House in the late hours of Monday
