Senator Seeks Law Establishing Institute For Tractorisation, Irrigation Practices

BEVERLY HILLS, May 19, (THEWILL) – The Senator representing Osun West, Adelere Oriolowo, on Wednesday presented Bill seeking the establishment of a Federal institute on tractorization and other modern ways of agriculture.

The Bill presented to the Senate on Wednesday, focuses on four aspect -Tractorisation, Field Application, Precision Agriculture and Irrigation Technology.

In the area of Precision Agriculture and Field Application, the bill is seeking to help farmers collect timely information on soil-plant-animal requirements and prescribing site-specific treatment to increase agricultural production and protect the environment.

On the Irrigation Technology aspect, the Bill if passed into law, will save farmers time from visiting their farms to supply water to plants at regular interval. Instead, technological innovations will be provided.
