August 04, (THEWILL) –Â A former Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations of the Nigeria Police Force and Senator for Niger North, Senator Nuhu Aliyu, is dead.
Aliyu died on Wednesday in Kaduna after a brief illness.
Confirming the sad development, a statement by Secretary to Niger State Government, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Matane, said the state has lost a man of inestimable value, adding his advice would be greatly missed.
The statement partly reads: “The patriotic tendencies and excellent handling of legislative duties concerning the welfare of people and the nation demonstrated by late Senator Nuhu Aliyu are worthy of emulations.
“But we must take solace in the fact that from God we all come and to Him we shall all return. Nobody shall live longer than the time appointed by Almighty God.”
The state government mourned the former legislator, describing him as a great man of courage dedicated to the nation.
