Salah Admits Love For Liverpool As Contract Negotiations Continue

Egyptian superstar forward Mohamed Salah has revealed that he would like to stay at Liverpool for the rest of his career, but that the decision is ultimately out of his hands.

Salah’s current contract with the club runs out in 2023, and he earns around £200,000 per week, making him one of the club’s highest-paid players.

Liverpool and Salah’s representatives are in advanced talks over a new and extended contract, with the Reds hoping to add their star player to a growing list of players with fresh contracts.

Those who have already inked new deals at Anfield include are Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and captain Jordan Henderson. Salah has now revealed that he can not see himself playing anywhere else.

“If you ask me, I would love to stay until the last day of my football career, but I can’t say much about that – it’s not in my hands,” Salah said. “It depends on what the club want, not on me.

“At the moment I can’t see myself ever playing against Liverpool. That would make me sad. It’s hard, I don’t want to talk about it, but it would make me really sad. At the moment, I don’t see myself playing against Liverpool but let’s see what will happen in the future.”

Salah has had a fantastic season so far and is arguably the best player in the world right now, according to manager Jurgen Klopp. Salah has 12 goals in 11 games in all competitions, with five of those coming in just three Champions League appearances, and is the Premier League’s joint-highest goalscorer with Jamie Vardy on seven.

The Egyptian was in brilliant form in midweek, helping Liverpool beat Atletico Madrid 3-2 at the Wanda Metropolitano, and now he has his sights set on a huge clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
