SAN FRANCISCO, February 01, (THEWILL) – The 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards took place on Saturday night January 30, 2016 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.
2016 SAG Awards not only honored numerous talents, but made history in doing so.
Idris Elba became the first male to win both Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role and Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a TV Movie or Mini-Series for his roles in Beasts of No Nation and Luther.
Leonardo DiCaprio won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role in a Theatrical Motion Picture in The Revenant.
Viola Davis won her second high-profile award for her performance in How to Get Away with Murder, and Uzo Aduba won the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for her role in Orange Is the New Black.
