Rooftop MCs Celebrate 21st Anniversary In Entertainment Industry

September 27, (THEWILL) – The duo of Kunle Adeyoola, also known as Soul Snatcha and Olaitan Hughes, popularly known as So kleva, formed a group known as Rooftop MCs that was a force to reckon with in the Nigerian gospel music industry between 2007 and 2010. The musical duo changed the narrative and paved the way for a wider acceptance of contemporary gospel music in Nigeria. One of their hit songs, Lagimo, which featured ace music producer, Cohbams Asuquo, ruled the airwaves from radio to television. The chorus soon became an anthem among music lovers. The song was a passionate appeal to God to keep them as a group at a time when fame and money was in sight. They also released musical hits, such as Shock Therapy, Back at One, Chop Your Mouth, Laddah, and The Minority Report.

The group won various awards and headlined global concerts. They also appeared on the Nigerian version of the popular children show, Sesame Street and launched their clothing line, Jesu Kristi. Years after, Snatcha relocated to the United Kingdom but they still continued to make group appearances while pursuing individual solo careers.

On Thursday, September 16, 2021 they celebrated their 21st year in the entertainment industry. The two talented artistes had a live Instagram conversation about their sojourn in the music world, their hit songs and why they have not been visible in the industry. They took fans down memory lane as they played hit singles from their repertoire of songs.
