July 29, (THEWILL) – Chelsea are poised to bolster their midfield ranks with the imminent signing of 19-year-old Lesley Ugochukwu from Rennes.
Sources monitored by THEWILL reveal that the Blues have reached an agreement with the French club for a fee of around £25 million and that the talented teenager has been given permission to undergo a medical. Ugochukwu, who has impressed while playing at the base of Rennes’ midfield, will potentially join Chelsea’s new sister side Strasbourg on loan to gain valuable senior experience.
Additionally, Chelsea aim to finalise a deal for Dynamo Moscow midfielder, Arsen Zakharyan, through their partnership with Strasbourg, while Montpellier striker, Elye Wahi, could also join the French club on loan if negotiations prove successful.
