Real Madrid Close Deal To Bring Tchouameni To Spain From Monaco

June 07, (THEWILL) – La Liga champions, Real Madrid, have beaten Liverpool to agreeing to a deal with Monaco midfielder, Aurelien Tchouameni, only weeks after defeating the English Premier League side in the UEFA Champions League final in Paris.

Carlo Ancelotti continues to strengthen his midfield with the 22-year-old on the verge of following France teammate, Eduardo Camavinga, to the Santiago Bernabeu, in a move worth over €100 million. Tchouameni, who made his professional debut at the age of 18, arrived at Monaco from Bordeaux in January 2020 and has since established himself as a regular.

Tchouameni scored five goals and had three assists in 50 appearances in all competitions last season, helping Philippe Clement’s side to a third-place finish in Ligue 1 and a place in the Champions League qualifying round. In 95 appearances for the Ligue 1 club, he has a total of eight goals and seven assists.

The France international has also established himself as a key member of Didier Deschamps’ Les Bleus squad, earning his 10th senior cap in Monday’s 1-1 Nations League draw with Croatia, and there is plenty of interest in his services.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City, were said to be interested in signing Tchouameni, who has a contract expiring at the end of the 2023/2024 season.
