July 26, (THEWILL) – Aaron Ramsey’s contract with Juventus has been amicably ended according to Juventus, and he will now be a free agent.

The Wales international joined the Bianconeri in 2019, after his contract with Arsenal expired, but he struggled last season and only played three times in Serie A before going on loan to Scottish club, Rangers.

His time in Glasgow will be remembered for his crucial penalty shoot-out miss in the Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt in Seville, which Rangers ultimately lost. He played seven times for the Gers in the Scottish Premiership.

The 31-year-old had one year left on his contract when he returned to Turin after the loan, but the two sides have decided to split ways. The midfielder has been extensively connected with a return to a couple of former clubs, with home club Cardiff City and Premier League newcomers Nottingham Forest, where he spent a brief period on loan in the 2010–11 season, both apparently interested.

In order to get ready for the World Cup with Wales in Qatar in November, Ramsey will be eager to get some playing time under his belt.
