November 11, (THEWILL) – Paulo Dybala has recovered from an injury to join the Argentina World Cup team for Qatar 2022.

The Roma forward has been sidelined with a thigh injury since the Giallorossi’s victory against Lecce on October 9 even though rumours claimed he was close to a comeback. It was confirmed after Argentina coach, Lionel Scaloni, selected Dybala in his 26-man squad for Qatar, which also features Lionel Messi, in what is likely to be his final World Cup.

With 12 goals in 18 games this season for Paris Saint-Germain, the 35-year-old has found his form again. He will be joined in attack by Dybala, Angel Di Maria, Joaquin Correa, Julian Alvarez, Nicolas Gonzalez, and Lautaro Martinez, the only Albiceleste player to tie him for goals in the qualifiers (seven).

Like Dybala, Tottenham centre-back, Cristian Romero has recovered from an injury in time to travel, while Lisandro Martinez of Manchester United is also on board. Villarreal’s Giovani Los Celso has injured his hamstring recently, so he was left out. Alexis MacAllister of Brighton and Hove Albion was invited for his performance so far in the EPL.

On November 22, the two-time World Cup champions will take on Saudi Arabia to open their campaign. Mexico and Poland will be their other opponents in their following Group C matches.
