Professor Onor Emerges Cross River PDP Guber Candidate

May 26, (THEWILL) – Senator representing Cross River Central in the national assembly, Professor Sandy Onor, has emerged candidate of the People’s Democratic Party for the upcoming governorship elections in the state.

Professor Onor defeated over seven other aspirants to emerge victorious in a keenly contested contest.

Results from the elections show that Professor Onor polled 236 votes to emerge winner.

He was followed by Senator Gershom Bassey, who scored 175 votes, Daniel Asuquo 147 votes, and Arthur Jarvis with 6 votes.

Others are Ambassador Nkoyo Toyo 4 votes, Filial Hensha with 2 votes while Ima-Nsah Adegoke scored 1 vote.

Declaring the results, the returning officer, Jide Coker, said 594 delegates were accredited for the excercise, and 20 votes were void.

He said, “by powers conferred on me by the national leadership of the PDP and as Chairman of the panel, I hereby declare Professor Sandy Onor winner of the election and returned elected.”

Speaking briefly after being declared winner, Professor Sandy Onor attributed his victory to God.

He promised a brand new Cross River State and also pledged to speak the truth to the people at all times.
