May 23, (THEWILL) – Caroline Danjuma has said that the producers of the Real Housewives of Lagos couldn’t afford her fees and she had to spend her own money to be on the show.
“I will speak for myself. I wasn’t paid. I don’t know about other actresses and their contracts. But, for me, I was told I could not be afforded. They were going to give me a honorarium, which had to do with my styling”, the former actress, who took part in the reality show, spoke about spending her own money during the production.
“And that was it. No royalties, nothing. No payment. I spent at least N20 million to N30 million of my own money buying new designer things. Things I hate to do. I paid for more in terms of styling, just for everything to work out.”
The Real Housewives of Lagos is the 16th international version of the popular reality show format distributed internationally by NBC Universal Formats, a part of Universal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group.
It is the third of its kind in the show franchise to be adopted in Africa.
The show follows the celebrity lives of Iyabo Ojo, Toyin Lawani, Laura Ikeji, Miriam Timmer, Chioma Goodhair, and Danjuma.
