BEVERLY HILLS, November 10, (THEWILL) – Pro-Biafra groups have taken over major streets in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, crippling movements in many parts of the city all day.
The protesters are demanding the release of their members including a prominent leader, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, who is in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), on allegations of treason.
The Rivers State government had warned against the protests, which have been gaining momentum since it erupted in Anambra, Aba and Enugu some days back.
The military and policemen have been deployed to maintain law and order during the solidarity protests.
