Presbyterian Church Marks Silver Jubilee, Honours Personalities

January 18, (THEWILL) – The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria (PCN), Akparabong Parish, Ogoja Presbytery, has concluded arrangements to mark its 25 years anniversary.

As part of this celebration, about twenty outstanding Personalities will be honoured with the Church’s award for rendering selfless and humanitarian services to humanity.
Chairman, Planning Committee, Elder Dr Henry Tiku, alongside the secretary, Breedvelt Bassey Awara, disclosed this in Calabar.
Tiku explained that the recipients distinguished themselves in their areas of human endeavour and their names are associated with rendering selfless services to humanity.
Those to be honoured at the Anniversary include a philanthropist, interventionist, and renowned lawyer, Tawo Eja Tawo SAN.
Others who will receive posthumous awards include a one-time member Of the House of Representatives (1954) & farmer, the Late Elder Prince R Nkim Takon and Paramount Ruler of former Ikom, Etung and Boki LGAs, Minen Ojong Ndoma-Egba.
Other recipients of the posthumous award include the Late Elder James Takim Ojong, the first Elder Commissioner of Akparabong stock in the greater Ikom Presbyterian Church in the 70s.
Tiku stated that the anniversary ceremony will be Chaired by an Abuja-based Legal Practitioner, Abang Odok and co-chaired by a reputable/versatile Engineer, Chief Dr Amba Ndoma–Egba.
On his part, Breedvelt Bassey Awara, the Secretary, planning committee, said activities for the anniversary celebration will include fasting, symposia, health talk, a raffle draw and end with a thanksgiving Service.
