BEVERLY HILLS, February 11, (THEWILL) – American porn mogul, Larry Flynt, best known as the Publisher of the Hustler Magazine, has died at the age of 78.
According to Jimmy Flynt Jr., his uncle died yesterday at his Hollywood Hills home.
The cause of death was not disclosed but according to Flynt Jr, his uncle had been in frail health for the past 30 years since a 1978 assassination attempt left him paraplegic.
Flynt Jr said: “Larry was a rebel. He had a very complex personality. That’s why they made a movie about it.
“Flynt lived a difficult life after being shot, but one that was marked by tremendous success.
“He wanted to be remembered as a person who pushed the boundaries of free speech and that the First Amendment was the cornerstone of democracy.”
THEWILL writes that Flynt launched the pornographic magazine Hustler in 1974 and also founded Larry Flynt Publications.
