February 12, (THEWILL) – Police in Ogun State have arrested a couple, Kehinde Oladimeji, 43, and Adjumoke Raji, 35, for allegedly being in possession fresh different human parts
The couple, who live at no 72 MKO Abiola way Leme Abeokuta, were arrested on Saturday 12, 2022.
Their arrest follows a report lodged at Kemta Divisional Headquarters by one chief Moshood Ogunwolu, the Baale of Leme Community.
The Baale told the police that one Pastor Adisa Olarewaju, a co-tenant with the suspects informed him of offensive odours coming out from the room of the suspects.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta on Saturday.
Oyeyemi said that upon the complaint, the DPO, Kemta Division, CSP Adeniyi Adekunle, quickly led his detectives to the scene where search was conducted.
He said while searching the room, a plastic bowl containing fresh different parts of human beings was discovered and the couple were promptly arrested.
The Police PRO said the suspects on interrogation confessed that the human parts were given to them by one Michael
“On interrogation, the suspects confessed they were herbalists and that the human parts consisting of hands, breasts and other parts were given to them by one Michael, who they claimed resided in the Adatan area of Abeokuta.” he said
Oyeyemi added that all efforts to locate Michael proved abortive as the suspects could not locate his house.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Homicide Section of the state criminal investigation and Intelligence Department, for discreet investigation.
He vowed that anyone, who is directly or indirectly involved in the crime would be brought to book to serve as a deterrent to others.
