November 19, (THEWILL) – Ex-Tottenham Hotspur manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has revealed that he believes there will be more opportunities for him to manage another big club like Real Madrid in the future.
The Argentine has been out of work ever since Paris Saint-Germain fired him at the end of the 2021/2022 season, after a turbulent 18-month stay in the French city.
Pochettino gained international recognition as manager of Tottenham, before taking the Ligue 1 job, where he transformed the club from outsiders to title contenders in the English Premier League and took them to their first-ever UEFA Champions League final.
Pochettino was frequently linked to Real Madrid and Manchester United during his five years in North London, and although he said he was devoted to Spurs, he did not necessarily rule out taking those roles either.
Speaking recently, he expressed his belief that there will be opportunities to manage such clubs once more in the future.
He said: “Football is ‘timing’. These are the moments for it to coincide and for that marriage to happen. Sometimes it’s just a matter of time. I don’t believe in trains passing only once. I think that sometimes you need to have the necessary patience and you have to know how to wait. The ‘timing’ is handled by football.”
