Plateau Still New Hotbed As Nigeria Records 239 New Coronavirus Cases

BEVERLY HILLS, September 1, (THEWILL) – Nigeria Tuesday reported 239 confirmed new cases of the coronavirus, with Plateau State solidifying its position as the new hotbed of the pandemic, maintaining the number one spot for seventh consecutive day, with 116 new cases.

The tally in the country as at Tuesday night stood at 54, 247 cases with 42, 010 recoveries and 10 new deaths to bring the total number to 1, 023.

According to data released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, the FCT posted 33 new cases, Lagos, the state with the highest number of recorded cases added 19, while Ekiti reported 12. See below for a full breakdown.

The NCDC also said it has so far tested 405, 916 samples as at August 31, 2020.
