October 17, (THEWILL) – Pedro Neto produced a match-winning performance to lead Chelsea to a 2-0 win over Everton in a 2026-27 Premier League encounter at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday.

Xabi Alonso made one change from the team that defeated Bournemouth 5-1 last weekend; with Pep Chavarria missing out due to injury, Jorrel Hato replaced him in the lineup.

The hosts made life difficult for Chelsea with their compact defending and physicality in the first half as the Blues struggled to get into the groove.

Emi Martinez made two quality saves in the first half before Moises Caicedo’s stunning effort hit the bar on the eve of halftime.

The first half ended goalless to cap off a frustrating afternoon for the visitors.

Chelsea came out of the second half with a renewed vigour, and it paid off just a minute after the restart when Pedro Neto broke the deadlock.

The Portuguese winger finished off a deflected Jorrel Hato’s cross to make it 1-0 in favour of Chelsea in the 46th minute.
