November 16, (THEWILL) – The embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr Iyorcha Ayu, clocked 70 on Tuesday, November 15. The lecturer-turned-politician took to social media to gush on himself as he posted heartwarming pictures of himself and his wife to celebrate his landmark age.
The National Working Committee and the entire members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), also wrote a tribute in honour of their leader. The presidential candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, also celebrated Ayu on his big day.
Ayu was formerly a University Lecturer, President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Minister of Education, Minister of Industry, Minister of Internal Affairs, and Minister of Environment, before becoming the National Chairman of his Party.
His party has been engulfed in crisis since he took over the mantle of leadership in October as the chairman, with the Governor of Imo State, Nyesom Wike, calling for his removal because the presidential candidate, National Chairman and Director General of the Presidential Campaign Council are all from the North.
