October 07, (THEWILL) – Chelsea won their second consecutive English Premier League game on Saturday, with an emphatic 4-1 triumph against Burnley at Turf Moor. The London club had gone seven league matches without back-to-back wins prior to this result.
The home side took an early lead through Wilson Odobert, but the Blues equalised just before half-time courtesy of an own goal by Ameen Al Dakhil. Mauricio Pochettino’s side then dominated the second half, with goals from Cole Palmer, Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson capping off a memorable performance.
Burnley were bright in patches but struggled to contain the Chelsea attack after the break. Sterling won a penalty soon after the restart, converted by Palmer, before adding a goal of his own just past the hour mark. Jackson wrapped up the scoring late on as the visitors recorded four goals in a league match for the first time since April 2022.
It was a statement result for Chelsea manager Pochettino, whose side has struggled for consistency so far this season. The win lifts the Blues to 10th place ahead of the rest of the weekend’s fixtures.
They will hope this performance provides a platform to build momentum as they seek to climb the EPL table.
