May 29, (THEWILL) – The family of late singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, has revealed that she will be buried on June 25.
According to BBC Igbo, she will be buried in her father’s compound in Isuochi, Abia State.
It was also revealed that some of her family members are considering returning the bride price paid by Peter, her husband, as part of the marriage rites.
The late singer, who passed away on April 8, was initially thought to have died of throat cancer.
But some of her colleagues alleged that she died as a result of the assault she suffered from her husband.
Peter was later arrested and the Federal Government charged him for culpable homicide before a high court in Abuja.
The charges were filed under Sections 104 and 379 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015 and Section 221 of the Penal Code and the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act (VAPP).
Peter was accused of forcefully ejecting Osinachi from the family home and throwing her out of a moving car.
The prosecution also alleged that he restrained her movement and locked her up in a house.
