Osimhen’s Agent Focused On EPL Move Despite Napoli Contract Extension

December 26, (THEWILL) – Victor Osimhen recently extended his contract with Serie A champions, Napoli, until 2026. However, the agent of the 24-year-old Nigerian striker is already strategising for a dream transfer to the English Premier League, according to recent reports in the Italian media.
The new Napoli deal contains a $143 million release clause, which could be activated as early as next summer. This would allow the player known as “The Machine” to exit Naples on good terms. Osimhen’s agent has allegedly started looking for an EPL team willing to pay the substantial fee for the striker’s services.
Leading the race for his signature is Chelsea, currently struggling in 10th place this season. Manager Mauricio Pochettino has found it difficult to get the misfiring Blues attack functioning, scoring just 29 goals in 18 league matches. Summer arrival Christopher Nkunku made his Chelsea debut recently but reinforcements up front remain a priority.
Their London rivals Arsenal, sitting top of the League and in contention for this season’s title, have also shown interest in Osimhen according to reports. Yet, without the means to trigger Napoli’s release clause, the Gunners may not exactly pose stiff competition for the Blues.
It is unclear if Osimhen would prefer a UEFA Champions League club like Arsenal or an exciting Chelsea rebuild under Pochettino. Still, with his agent already working diligently behind the scenes, Serie A title holders Napoli may find themselves unable to stop their star striker moving to the EPL.
