In the local parlance of the Esan people of Edo State, it is often said that “When evil and native intelligence combine, you get the makings of man-made catastrophe”. Thus, Nigeria is now engaged in a full-fledged war between the forces of good and of evil. There is something about Nigerian politicians which I find strangely unsettling and this prompted some reasonable questions. Have the Nigerian populace been so psychologically brainwashed that they can no longer tell good from evil? Have our educational system become such purveyors of evil that they routinely turn millions of young Nigerians into functional illiterates? The answer unfortunately is yes.
First, permit me to ask the next generation of Nigerians these few more questions. How do you feel about facts? Do you hate them? Are they super irritated, like the sting-bees? Why are Nigerians not thinking and asking questions? When have desperation, lying, subterfuge and the killing of innocent humans by desperate politicians become acceptable in achieving political goals in our Nation? What good have political backbiting, decamping, cross carpeting and even fence sitting done to Nigerians? Who are the brains and monstrous masquerades behind the atrocity of Boko Haram which is aimed at making Nigeria ungovernable at all cost for their own cold-bloodedness with no pangs of conscience? Who are those behind these heinous crimes against humanity? How many Nigerians are awake, aware and prepared to defend our integrity? Evil unchallenged will prevail every time. Let no evil go unchallenged from this moment forward. We cannot pass this social disorder on to our children.
How can Nigerians be so clueless, blinded and brainwashed to have fallen into the well laid traps and lies of desperately vicious and toxic politicians who act shamelessly without conscience, no feelings of guilt or remorse no matter what they do, no limiting sense of concern for the well-being of the nation? To add insult to injury, they pretend that the concept of responsibility is unknown to them, except as a burden others seem to accept without question, like gullible idiots. All of these sum up together, have today snowballed and gravitated into politics of bitterness and loss of morality in politics which paved the way for flip-flopping politicians who switch parties in search of profitable platforms to pursue personal political ambitions and agenda rather than the greater purpose of service to the people and the nation. The fact is that the depraved actions of the gangsters do not in any way meet the demands of the new reality.
The fact of the matter in one sentence is that Nigerian politicians, be it PDP or APC are self-serving group that are desperately eager to grab public office at all cost as a means of accumulating personal wealth, which is the reason why politicians decamp so easily after serving their term in their political party. Whenever Nigerian politicians have exhausted their opportunity and do not get any more prestigious and juicy position for themselves or their children and wives, their party automatically becomes bad and corrupt party and then, they mortgage their consciences as well as seek to pursue their personal and selfish interest in other parties waiting to receive decampees. This is the height of absurdity and foolishness hence I regard them as political IDIOTS. I am of the opinion that this was the obvious reason that ex President of United States, Ronald Regan said “Politics is supposed to be the second-oldest profession… and I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance with the first”.
In a sophisticated democracy, cross carpeting is done on principle, rather than on selfish and personal interest. Whereas what we witness in Nigeria is political prostitution which lacks political ethics and principle. This is because our political platform now consists of part-time political dabblers who seek office out of some mixture of ego, self-serving intentions and political ambition. A great of example of these absurdities is the case of Gov. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, who served as the speaker of the Rivers State house of Assembly for eight years under PDP and moved on to serve as Governor of Rivers State under the same PDP for seven years and decamped to APC when he sensed that he will not be given more opportunities in the party as he is not the only politician in that state. Gov. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi gave Nigerians flimsy excuses that he left PDP because they are corrupt and again the Speaker of the House of Representatives also joined in this collective political scam to rubbish their party and parading themselves as born again whereas it is for their own selfish interests. Then I said to them, “SHUT THE TRASH UP, you bloody liars and ingrates”. Please, kindly excuse my language but the fact is that this sort of politicking is not only annoying, it is equally childish. But instead of being born again, why don’t you just grow up? This crop of politicians simply shows that many people are brainless.
Never before in Nigeria’s history have politicians diabolically plotted every twist and turn to create class and race war in Nigeria while the tensed political situation grow more radical which I believe could potentially explode into violence after the 2015 Presidential election. These good-for-nothing troublemakers never for once work towards reducing the cost of governance in their States, while Aminu Tambuwal never for once reduced his salary or sitting allowance at the House of Representatives so that Nigerians will see that they are saints and holier than the Pope as they claim to be. They only succeeded in fooling the gullible Nigerians to believe that it is the name PDP that is bad and not the members who served and ended their tenure under the umbrella of the PDP before decamping to the opposition party to start a new political career. This type of political absurdity has been subject to trenchant media and street parliamentarians’ criticisms far beyond what they ever should have had to bear.
The worst part of it all is that most Nigerians find it absolutely difficult to accept the fact that 99.9% of Nigeria political elites are either stupid or evil. They can’t believe that smart people can be that stupid. But they also find it absolutely difficult to believe that such intelligent people can be that evil. Yet they know that it is the vicious and toxic politicians who have brought this great nation to the brink of economic catastrophe and state of anarchy, insecurity, unpredictable and uncertain future for our nation. Be that as it may, I will not also blame the Nigerian populace as much because these vicious and toxic politicians capitalize on their impoverished nature to manipulate them at will. These evil politicians first of all impoverish Nigerians so that when they ask you to stand or sit down, you would obey without asking questions on why you should comply as long as they would be given a cup of rice, T-shirts and face caps.
That is why this great chasm engulfs between ordinary Nigerians and their political leaders who have grown increasingly large over the decades. Of course, it is easy for the politicians to manipulate most Nigerians into believing that right is wrong and wrong is right. But there are always those equally intelligent Nigerians who are able to resist such manipulations which group I obviously belong.
In other words, human beings can be manipulated by evil doctrines to carry out the most horrible and destructive acts imaginable just like the case of Boko Haram. Yet, these same doctrines have infected many intelligent Nigerians. Socialists have taken control of the large portions of the mass media which they use as propaganda tools against perceived enemies. They spread their evil doctrines in our schools, markets, Churches and Mosques. They are formidable enemies out to destroy everything that has made Nigeria a great Nation.
I have concluded that there are two kinds of charlatans in Nigeria: the man who is called a charlatan, and the man who really is one. The first is the quack who cures you; the second is the highly qualified person who doesn’t. Again, there are two kinds of rebellion. The first is one in which the slave demands something that the tyrant has got. The second is one in which he demands something that the tyrant has not got. You can now agree with me that there is no difference between them. All Nigerian politicians are thieves and worse than armed robbers they need to be brought to book for their crimes against Nigeria and Nigerians.
Finally, my sincere opinion is this: if politicians in the opposition party are really and earnestly desirous of taking over power from the ruling PDP in the interest of the populace without any hidden agenda, the first step for them to take is to be fair, just and rational to win the hearts of Nigerians by way of reducing the cost of running governance in their various States, reduce the pension entitlements of past governors from 100 million naira monthly to two hundred thousand naira only, reduce the allowance of sitting governors and that of their wives in their various States, they also have to reject the huge sitting allowances and salaries paid to the House of Assembly members in their various states and also their members in the Upper and lower Chambers of the National Assembly and should openly kick against sitting allowances and salaries paid to them. In this way, Nigerians will see them as being sincerely credible and above-board, without any hidden agenda. In the absence of these strong points raised herein, a devil you know will obviously be better than the pretending wolfs in angel’s wing that you hardly know. Remember that a sharp tongue is no indication of a keen mind. As we struggle between the forces of dark and light, we need to leave our eyes wide open and do not mortgage your future to desperate, vicious and toxic politicians.
