Okuama: Easterday Commends Gov. Diri On Visit To Igbomotoru

GTBCO FOOD DRINL

April 18, (THEWILL) – The Chairman of the Bayelsa Federated Newspaper Publishers Association (BAFENPA), Mr. Ayebaitari Easterday, has commended Governor Douye Diri for visiting the devastated Igbomotoru Community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state following the military invasion of the community in search of suspected killers of 17 military personnel in Okuama, Delta State, on March 14.

Speaking in Yenagoa, Easterday, who is an indigene of the community, said the visit has availed the Governor of the true occurrence, and urged people not to play politics with the lives of others in the discharge of social responsibilities.

Easterday, while eulogising the Governor for the donation of foodstuff and cash gifts to ameliorate the hardship faced by the people since the invasion, called on leaders of the community and those entrusted with the donations to ensure that the items were evenly distributed to impacted people in line with the Governor’s directive.

Fielding questions, Easterday appealed to members of the community, particularly those of Igbomotoru two who fled for fear of the unknown, to return home and continue with their lawful social activities and for normal life to be restored.
