SAN FRANCISCO, November 04, (THEWILL) – Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun has ordered the temporary suspension of ongoing semester examination at the Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, following the death of a student.

Yusuf Malik, a National Diploma 1 student was on Tuesday knocked down by a motorcycle at the Main Gate of the institution. The incident triggered a protest by students of the college.

In a statement by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Student Affairs, Azeez Adeyemi said: “the governor had ordered the immediate suspension of ongoing examination and other academic activities in the school until Nov. 11 in honour of the deceased.”

While expressing sadness over the incident, Adeyemi said: “the break would allow students to stabilise psychologically and then return to continue the examination.”

“We are putting speed breakers at the entrance of the school on the directive of the governor. The student leaders have submitted a list of issues to be given immediate attention”, he added.
