November 07, (THEWILL) – Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele, has condemned the expulsion of the party’s former gubernatorial candidate, Ladi Adebutu and four others.

Adebutu and four others including Taiwo Akinlabi, Sunday Solarin, Kayode Adebayo, and Akinloye Bankole, were expelled over their alleged involvement in the manipulation of the delegates’ list used to conduct the May 25 governorship primary and flagrant disobedient to the court order.

But Ogundele, while receiving over 8,000 non-indigene members of the party across the 20 Local Government Areas of the State, to declare their support for Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign at Ake, Abeokuta, said Adebutu and others’ expulsion was fake.

He said that those behind the ex-guber candidate and others’ expulsion were no longer members of the party, insisting that they had no authority to do so since they had been expelled from the party.

The party chairman, who debunked their expulsion by those he described as dissidents, assured members at the rally that all the crises in the party would be resolved for the party’s success in the 2023 election.

He said, “I also want to debunk, and condemn the purported suspension and expulsion carried out by some dissidents. I don’t see them as members of our political parties, because they had been suspended and some of them had been expelled.

“So on what capacity have they acted, on what level have they suspended or expelled members of our party, but I know the darkness of the past will not deem the light of our success in the coming election”, he added.
