January 23, (THEWILL) – The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Kunle Oluomo, has been impeached over gross misconduct.
The lawmakers, who accused Oluomo of alleged embezzlement, haughtiness, and other offences, elected Oludaisi Elemide, an All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker representing Odeda State Constituency, as the new Speaker.
THEWILL reports that 18 of the 26 members of the State Assembly voted for Oluomo’s impeachment during plenary session on Tuesday.
