NSCDC To Ensure Hitch-Free Election In Sokoto – Commandant

January 12, (THEWILL) – The Sokoto Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) has promised to ensure a hitch-free conduct of the forthcoming general elections in the state.

The NSCDC Commandant in the State, Muhammad Saleh Dada, stated this during a meeting with the management, Divisional Officers and all other senior officers of the command as part of strategic steps taken to ensure a peaceful conduct in the state.

In a statement issued to Journalists in Sokoto, on Thursday, by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Hamza Adamu Illela, the commandant reiterated the command under Dada’s leadership is fully prepared for the task ahead of ensuring a peaceful election in Sokoto State.

The Commandant charged all to be non-partisan, civil and professional in carrying out the responsibility of election security.

He said that the Commandant General had assured all the Corp members of their welfare and will not tolerate any form of sabotage among the officers and men of the corps.

“Therefore no officer of the Corps will be allowed to align with any political party, but it is expected all will be given fair treatment and consideration”, the statement reads in part.

The Commandant also reiterated his commitment in cooperating with the sister agencies and all relevant stakeholders for a hitch free, peaceful and transparent election in the State.
