NSCDC Nabs Fake Currency Syndicate In Sokoto

March 22, (THEWILL) – The Sokoto State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has arrested four suspects, who specialises in the production of fake currency notes, both Naija and CFA.

Parading the suspects on Tuesday, the Sokoto State NSCDC Commandant, Muhammad Saleh Dada, identified the suspects to include, 30-year-old Tasiu Jelani, 20-year-old Yusuf Aminu, 32-year-old Shamsu Sanusi and 30-year-old Isiya Umar.

The suspects, according to the Commandant, specialises in producing fake naira and CFA notes whilst circulating same counterfeits to defraud innocent traders.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects include five million naira and another 2 million CFA.

Giving insight into the arrest, the NDCSC Commandant said it was as a result of credible intelligence by their men in the Sokoto North division.

While noting that the suspects would be charged to court after the conclusion of investigation, a statement by the Command spokesperson.

The NSCDC commandant, however, appealed to members of the public to be weary of such people in their midst and to report any of such fraudulent activities to the law enforcement agencies.
