December 08, (THEWILL) -The League Management Company (LMC) and the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Club Owners have agreed on December 17 as the start date for the 2021/2022 NPFL season.
The confirmation is part of the resolutions passed at the LMC’s corporate headquarters in Abuja yesterday at the conclusion of the General Assembly meeting.
The Executive Secretary of the NPFL Club Owners Association, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, told journalists following the meeting that the new season would begin and end early enough to align the league with the world football calendar.
He also stated that Nigerian football fans should expect a fresh NPFL season with a lot of innovation and fierce competition among the clubs for the coveted crown of League title winner.
The selection of Prince Davidson Owumi of Rangers International FC of Enugu as the new CEO of the League Management Company LMC was also approved by the General Assembly, according to Chukwuemeka.
